  Cualli Tonalli,

I am very happy to see more of us are aware of our Indigenous roots.

As Indigenous people of our continent we must keep going forward.

TEXAS BAND OF KICKAPOO ACT, PUBLIC LAW 97-429 [H.R.4496]JANUARY 8, 1983. The Kickapoo Indigenous people from Mexico are entitled to freely pass and repass across the International border separating our ancient ancestral land.

In 200 B.C., the Anasazi people from the present-day State of Utah, were a Nahuatl speaking people like the Aztecas Mexicas. The Aztecas Mexicas are the descendants of the Anasazi.

Today, we can prove in federal court that we are Indigenous people of this continent.

Thank you for your time!

Nochipa,

Henry Guzman Villalobos (Azteca Yaqui)

Hey, I read your article on "Is a Chicano the same thing as a Mexican?" or something like that. It was really helpful, thanks. I would have gone around calling people "spanish" forever, though I know that's wrong. I think I'm going to continue not mentioning people's ethnic background at all, though, unless it's significant.

Hello everybody.I am writing you guys to say that what you are doing is very important.I was adopted and raised European-American but my birth fathers ancestry was from the Mexican state of Nayarit and he was part Huichol Indian.I was raised without any Mexican culture, something that still saddens my heart.I try to act Guero NorteAmericano but my soul tells me I am Mexican and indigenous.I think we of Mexican descent have a very powerful genetic memory. We can't fight who we are,it's in our blood and those of us who are smart embrace this.I want to say even though I was raised white I consider myself Indio Mexicano and am so proud and grateful for my heritage.Keep up the good work.Mexica Teahui!

I hope you guys continue with this nice web site it empowers good principles. Even though my nationality is Salvadorean, I would like to express that the Mexicans or Mexican Americans have always been an inspiration to all of us Hispanic Americans. The rich culture, politics, art philosophy and history have fed our minds with good values. May the other cultures study the Mexican culture and see what example you set here in the USA and the rest of the world as well. Gracias.

It is rather unusual what you try to explain about nuestra gente and rather interesting. I do believe that we are pure indigena but do know that there are nuestra gente que si son meztizo, y hasta este dia they call themselves just that. It is true though, that when someone leaves their community and finds somewhere else to live they are then meztizo, una mixta. Veronica E. Yanez

I am glad to see more and more people from both the U.S. and Mexico rediscovering their indigenous roots. As a Chicano who is rediscovering his own roots, I am proud to see more resources available to us to learn more about our sacred calendar, religion, and history. People do not seem to realize that the Mexica Nation and the Azteca Nation in general still exists. It exists in places in Mexico that the ignorant refute. It exists in the places that the uneducated haven't learned about yet. It exists within us who wish to seek it, the heart of the people. Another country can destroy a civilization, but it can never destroy the will of a people. MEXICA TIAHUI! 10-Tecpatl Mixcuauhtli
